Donation Updates
As a club, we would like to keep you updated on our progress since the fire last summer.
First and foremost, we want to once again express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible generosity shown by everyone. The donations we received were truly overwhelming and highlighted the amazing support from both our local community and the wider football family.
The funds donated via the GoFundMe page—set up by one of our parents—have now been received by the club. This money will cover the full cost of replacing the football goals we lost in the fire, ensuring we can host our upcoming gala.
The reason we have not yet purchased these goals is due to storage issues. Since the container fire, we no longer have a safe and dry storage area. We have been actively working on solutions, but these things take time. As soon as we have an update, we will be excited to share it with you all.
That being said, we will be purchasing the goals very soon, as our gala is fast approaching—and as we all know, time flies!
In addition, the money raised from the sponsored walk and the Parents vs. Coaches football match will go towards replacing other equipment lost in the fire. We would like to add that we really enjoyed this event as it brought all the club together, it’s something we are looking to do again this year.
Thanks to your generosity, we are fortunate that all fire-damaged equipment will be fully covered by donations.
We also have great news regarding the funds donated by Wakefield District Round Table 1088 for our help with the Santa Sleigh. With their generous contribution, we have purchased a new portable defibrillator and carrying bag. This defibrillator will be available for use at pitches further away from our fixed unit at the clubhouse, significantly reducing response time in the event of an emergency. We look forward to announcing its arrival.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Wakefield Round Table and all the volunteers who helped make this possible.
Thank you all for your continued support.
